Nani will be fit to ensure Germany will clash Portugal

Portugal coach Paulo Bento has got some positive news. That news from the treatment table ahead of his team's Euro 2012 opener against Germany on June 9. Nani is expected to be match fit in time to feature in the Group B encounter.

However, team doctor Henrique Jones believes that the 25-year-old will be ready in time for the match against Germany.

The Manchester United star picked up a foot injury in Portugal's 3-1 friendly loss against Turkey, and Portugal had initially feared that the winger would face a spell on the sidelines.

"Nani had a traumatic situation in his [right] foot, the same foot that he had problems with at Manchester United during the season," Jones said to Portugoal.net. "But I think it’s nothing serious and I think he’ll recover for the first match."

Portugal meets Denmark on June 13 in its second group game, before locking horns with the Netherlands on June 17.
